DIOCESAN CANONICAL INSPECTION REPORT - Graded “GOOD”

“The overall effectiveness of the school is good. The headteacher is an inspirational leader and the strong leadership shown by the senior team has galvanized the school community and taken them on a journey of refl ection and development. The headteacher’s passion and drive have led to an overwhelmingly positive sense of community and care within the school. She has been ably supported by effective governors at the school, who set challenging expectations”. DCI June 2018

Since I last wrote to you in April we have been very busy putting into place everything required to formally launch the new St Ralph Sherwin Catholic Multi-Academy Trust on 1st September 2018. As you may recall, as part of the wider Diocesan plan to secure Catholic education for the future, we are bringing together 25 schools from Derby City, Derbyshire, Staffordshire, Stockport and Nottinghamshire (of which 20 are primary and 5 are secondary).
Dear Parents/Carers, As we come to the end of another busy year at SPH, I would like to take the time to thank you all for your continued support. Our school has improved considerably since it became an Academy and both recent inspections and the fact we are oversubscribed in Year 7 for another year is testimony to this. As always, I remain committed to the continued improvement of teaching and learning. Science and Maths are a particular focus and there will be regular updates in the new academic year on these areas in particular.
